چکیده

Global climate change is heavily affected by an increase in CO2. As one of several efforts to cope with this, research on poplar, a representative, fast growing, and model organism plants, actively underway. The effects elevated atmospheric CO2 the metabolism, growth, transcriptome poplar were investigated predict productivity environment where concentrations are increasing. Poplar trees grown at ambient (400 ppm) or (1.4× ambient, 560 ppm, 1.8× 720 for 16 weeks open-top chambers (OTCs). We analyzed differences transcriptomes Populusalba × Populus glandulosa clone “Clivus” euramericana “I-476” using high-throughput sequencing techniques elucidated functions differentially expressed genes (DEGs) various functional annotation methods. About 272,355 contigs 207,063 unigenes obtained from assembly Trinity package. Common DEGs identified which consistently regulated both concentrations. In Clivus 29, common found, most these correspond cell wall proteins, especially hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins (HRGP), related fatty acid metabolism. Concomitantly, I-476, 25 identified, they heat shock protein (HSP) chaperone family, photosynthesis, nitrogen carbon addition, carbohydrate contents, including starch total soluble sugar, significantly increased response These data should be useful future gene discovery, molecular studies, tree improvement strategies upcoming increased-CO2 environments.

Genotypic variation in physiological and growth responses of Populus tremuloides to elevated atmospheric CO2 concentration.

Physiological and biomass responses of six genotypes of Populus tremuloides Michx., grown in ambient t (357 micromol mol(-1)) or twice ambient (707 micromol mol(-1)) CO2 concentration ([CO2]) and in low-N or high-N soils, were studied in 1995 and 1996 in northern Lower Michigan, USA. There was a significant CO2 x genotype interaction in photosynthetic responses. Net CO2 assimilation (A) was sig...

Physiological and Transcriptome Responses to Combinations of Elevated CO2 and Magnesium in Arabidopsis thaliana

The unprecedented rise in atmospheric CO2 concentration and injudicious fertilization or heterogeneous distribution of Mg in the soil warrant further research to understand the synergistic and holistic mechanisms involved in the plant growth regulation. This study investigated the influence of elevated CO2 (800 μL L(-1)) on physiological and transcriptomic profiles in Arabidopsis cultured in hy...

Transcriptome and biomineralization responses of the pearl oyster Pinctada fucata to elevated CO2 and temperature.

Ocean acidification and global warming have been shown to significantly affect the physiological performances of marine calcifiers; however, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. In this study, the transcriptome and biomineralization responses of Pinctada fucata to elevated CO2 (pH 7.8 and pH 7.5) and temperature (25 °C and 31 °C) are investigated. Increases in CO2 and temperature...

Responses of ‘Fuji’ apples to short and long duration exposure to elevated CO2 concentration

Fruit maturity, diphenylamine (DPA) treatment and controlled atmosphere (CA) storage regimes were evaluated as factors affecting development of ‘Fuji’ apple CO2 injury. The incidence and severity of CO2 injury (brown-heart) increased with advanced maturity and greater watercore severity at harvest. The development of CO2 injury during storage was prevented by DPA treatment. The severity of CO2 ...

Predicting Ecosystem Responses to Elevated CO2 Concentrations

O ne of the many changes occurring in the biosphere due . to human activities is the increase in the carbon dioxide concentration of the atmosphere. This change is due both to the burning of fossil fuels, which is ejecting approximately 5-6 gT of carbon into the atmosphere yearly, and to deforestation, which may account for another 1~2 gT (Moore and Bolin 1986/87, Detwiler and Hall 1988). The p...
